Potchefstroom Airport
Potchefstroom Airport, situated 120 km southwest of Johannesburg in the North-West province of South Africa, is an unmanned Tower airfield and subject to unmanned procedures.
The renowned glider manufacturing company, Jonker Sailplanes, has established its primary facility on the airfield, making Potchefstroom Airfield the epicenter of gliding in South Africa.
It is also the home base of the gliding club Akavlieg Potchefstroom (AVP), founded in 1999 at the Potchefstroom University, who is running all gliding activities.
